HOW’S IT GOING?
We hope you’re all doing great! Like last time, let’s get right into it – we’ve got tons of exciting things to cover.
GLOBAL TIKTOK TREND (SOUND) OF THE WEEK
![]() 27.4 million views | Pop Musik | M (Robin Scott)Genre: 70s synth-pop / new wave Featuring a minimalistic and robotic beat, this sound is resurging on TikTok through a very specific (and quite challenging) dance people are trying to replicate. We’d say it's the quirky energy and rhythmic simplicity that makes it so good for short-form. Also, the positive vibe suits spring / early summer, which is a correlation we often see. Takeaways— Positive vibe is great for spring / summer — People want to see how the creator does the dance (since it’s hard) which creates a super strong hook |
LOCAL TIKTOK TREND (SOUND) OF THE WEEK
UNITED STATES
![]() 1.8 million views | Good People Do Bad Things | The Ting TingsGenre: Indie pop/rock This song has a distinct 70s-inspired groove, that’s super relaxing to listen to — providing relief from the other stressful noise on the platform. Overall it’s a great “background song” for a great caption. A big success factor here is the start of the sound with the repeated “a a a oo” that creates recognition. What’s cool about this trend is that the videos using the sound are completely different. Takeaways— Songs can go viral without having a specific trend attached — Slow, smooth, and relaxing can be a great way to make short-form content stand out |
WHAT’S HAPPENING IN SOCIAL MEDIA:
Instagram launches feed repost feature

Instagram will now show reposts directly in the main feed, not just in Stories or a separate tab. This change makes reposted content as visible as original posts, which is how it’s done at TikTok and X.
Why this matters for music marketing
We’re confident this will increase the reach of individual posts, since content is easier to redistribute. This will help smaller creators that otherwise would have less reach on Instagram. So in other words, expect more and more posts from unknown people to show up in your feed – and capitalize on it by creating trends that go viral.

TIKTOK VIDEO OF THE WEEK:
Our little drummer boy

If you’ve been at least remotely active on TikTok, Reels, or Shorts, you’ve got to have seen this cute clip.
So why has it performed so incredibly well? Because people want to continue watching… But why?
— #1. The caption implies something will be shown later in the video, which makes you keep watching since you don’t want to miss anything
— #2. The cuteness is obvious, but highlights that you need something attention-grabbing and special about the video
— #3. Switching angles keeps the video interesting despite nothing exciting going on
— #4. The lighting and filming is awesome, making the video satisfying to watch
— #5. The shareability is huge – everyone wants to show other people this awesome baby
MUSIC EVENT OF THE WEEK:
Still Coachella 2025…

Super boring to mention Coachella 2025 again, but let’s face it, this is where things are happening at the moment. With headliners like Travis Scott, Green Day, Lady Gaga, and Post Malone, we’d expect nothing else…
Every second of Coachella creates content. Fans are posting all the time, and the event offers a case study in how music marketers can leverage things other than the music for spreading it.
The biggest conclusion is that there’s more to music marketing than the music itself, and if you can create content around your music (that people actually want to watch), you’re golden.
TIP OF THE WEEK: Best way film short-form?
One-point perspective

The best and easiest way to level up short-form content is to use the one-point perspective. This setup places your artist directly in the center of the frame, with everything aligned to draw the viewer’s eye straight to them.
It’s visually more striking and highly effective on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, since it builds intimacy and makes it much easier to hold the viewer’s attention. This is especially the case for talking to the camera, singing, or sharing some kind of message.
How to get it right
— #1. Use a tripod or stable surface to center the camera at eye level
— #2. Choose a clean, symmetrical background (or natural framing like doorways/hallways)
— #3. Frame the content creator dead center and fully facing the camera
— #4. Light from the front or sides to keep focus on the face
— #5. Keep the camera still (100% in almost all cases), and let the creator’s energy drive the shot. No need for annoying movements of the camera
PARASITION: Campaign breakdown
![]() 170k+ views | State of Mind | Kaskade x LiplessGenre: Progressive house The sound has makes you feel like you feel calm and relaxed, but also excited. This means it can be used for tons of stuff. Our goal was to create videos that evoke emotions in some way, which really complements the track. Campaign learnings— For sounds of this type, evoking emotions is the way to go — Either use a longer caption with limited movement in the video, or a shorter caption with much movement |
